December Boys


December Boys is a 2007 Australian film directed by Rod Hardy and written by Marc Rosenberg and adapted from the novel of the same name by Michael Noonan. It was released in the United States on September 14, 2007 and in Australia on September 20, 2007. It is rated PG in Australia and PG-13 in the United States.

Plot summary

This film is a coming of age picture for the five main characters, and how their lives can change over one holiday. The movie is set in 1960s Australia. Four orphan boys from a Roman Catholic orphanage in the outback of Australia are on a summer holiday at the beach. They compete for adoption by a couple in the beachside settlement.
